    Wantage Church of England Primary School OFSTED concludes ‘happy, safe, and supported’ pupils.

    Wantage Church of England Primary School has been hailed as having a positive learning environment following a visit from Ofsted Inspectors. The education regulator found that Wantage has maintained high standards since being rated as "Good" in its last full inspection in July 2019.

    Inspectors affirmed the school has taken effective action to maintain its achievements and is continuing to provide a nurturing and enriching environment for its pupils.

    The inspection, highlighted several key strengths of the school, including the positive learning environment, dedicated staff, and high expectations for pupils' behaviour and academic performance.

    Headteacher Andrew Browne said:

    “I would like to thank everyone associated with Wantage CE Primary School for all that they do to create such a fabulous school. I am so proud to be part of this community, which really is like a 'big family', and I am humbled to be headteacher to such super staff, pupils, and families. I am also grateful to our governors and colleagues from the trust who support us so well.”

    · Broad and Ambitious Curriculum: The school’s curriculum is both broad and ambitious, ensuring that pupils are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for their academic and personal growth. The curriculum emphasises the development of essential skills, including resilience, reflection, and resourcefulness.

    · Support for Special Educational Needs: The school is particularly committed to supporting students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), identifying their needs early and providing tailored support to ensure they thrive alongside their peers.

    · Love of Reading: The school places a strong emphasis on developing pupils’ reading skills, with well-trained staff delivering an effective phonics program that helps students progress as fluent readers.

    · High Standards of Behaviour and Attendance: Pupils at Wantage Church of England Primary School consistently behave well, both in lessons and during social times.
